It’s no secret that one of our favorite features of our new home is the great outdoors! We have two patios, which are perfect for soaking in all that nature has to offer. Our back patio is a really great size…which was actually hard to tell because of some overgrown bushes. We knew it felt big, but it wasn’t until we cleared out the bushes that we realized just how much room we have out there!
Yes, the bushes provided some privacy, but we’re on two acres…so our forest provides most of the privacy we need! While it was an easy yard project, it took a while to cut through all the bushes and haul them away. Evan revved up his chainsaw, and I was in charge of clearing out the fallen branches. Reyna? Well, she supervised. 🙂
We obviously have so.much.work to do inside the house, but it’s nice to change it up and sneak in some outdoor projects along the way. We have big plans for our little piece of land, but we know that the house itself is top priority. Projects like this one are great to crank out in an afternoon in the midst of indoor renovations! Easy to start and easy to finish.
Ahhh! Removing these bushes really opened up the patio! Now we’re trying to decide what we want to do with that area — an herb garden? Smaller plants? So many decisions but for now, we’re so happy with more patio space.
Cheers,
C

Wow! What a great space. I love the brick wall, too.
I totally relate on it being nice to switch it up to outdoor projects. It’s easy to get pigeonholed into inside projects.
Yes, the brick wall is definitely one of my favorite features too! I just love its rustic charm.
What a change! It really does open up the space. I know exactly what you mean about it feeling good to do a project that can be finished in an afternoon. I need a good slam-dunk project like that at BHH. It is utter chaos here right now. 🙂
But your kitchen is ALMOST done! That’s gonna feel so good. 🙂
